Sam Scott (b. 1940) is an American painter who began taking classes at the Chicago Art Institute at the age of 10; he held his first solo show at the age of 23 in Rome. Since 1969, he has lived and worked in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Scott is an accomplished abstract painter with an international reputation for works that are rooted in the landscape, light, and spiritual traditions of the American Southwest.
