Carrie Moyer (b. 1960) is an American painter, writer, and queer activist who lives and works in New York City. She began her career as a graphic designer and applied her design skills in queer activism, co-founding the public art project Dyke Action Machine! with photographer Sue Schaffner, one of the first long-running lesbian agitprop initiatives in New York City. She explores themes of lesbian identity and sexuality in her work through playful compositions, layered surfaces, and fluid forms, which freely oscillate between abstraction and representation.
